Our gracious and friendly hosts at Desert Riviera, Larry, Patty and Judy, will make you feel as if you’re part of the family. We provide our guests with many fabulous extras ranging from a complimentary welcome basket to sunscreens and towels by the pool.

The Desert Riviera Hotel has always catered to guests craving a romantic retreat, a gathering of close friends, or anyone who just wants to slow down and catch their breath. Still others love to be here for the exact same reasons we came . . . for the warm sun and the blue skies.

We’re from Oregon. Home of tall green trees and endless months of liquid sunshine.... well, at least, it seemed that way. Today, we relish 360 days of real sunshine that Palm Springs affords one and all.

We are Larry and Patty Stearns . . . proud owners and operators of the now totally refurbished Desert Riviera Hotel. Our modest hotel was originally built in 1951 by noted Palm Springs architect Herbert Burns.

Our love affair with the hotel literally began six years ago, when Patty and I happened to stroll past and noticed a For Sale sign in front of a very tired but charming small old hotel. As they say . . . the rest is history. Little did we know, we were about to add another gem to the growing number of mid-century masterpieces brought back from the edge of oblivion.

For the next few months, the hotel was Grand Central Station, abuzz with contractors, plumbers, tile men, decorators, and painters working at an incredible pace to recreate a place that now is a dream come true.
Way back in our minds, we always knew we wanted to create a intimate, personable hotel that would place convenience and guest service above everything else.

Today the hotel has been reincarnated with a beautiful mix of modern conveniences and ‘50’s style.
Fresh-squeezed citrus colors. “attention to detail” touches. And an amenities list that no one can match.
We hope you’ll enjoy the many fine details of the Desert Riviera . . . the physical ones Patty directed and helped craft, along with the one-of-a-kind personable atmosphere Judy creates from the first phone call to the last “please come back and see us.”

Desert Riviera - Palm Springs Hotel Information

Check-in time is 3 p.m. Check-out time is 11 a.m. We will try to accommodate special requests. Please call ahead for check-ins after 6 p.m.

Cancellation Policy: Please respect our 7-day advance cancellation notice (email preferred). Cancellations made less than our written policy will be charged for one night plus tax.

Credit Cards: We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express.

All rates are subject to 11.5% City of Palm Springs occupancy tax.

Rates for rooms and suites are based on single or double occupancy. Additional adult occupancy beyond two will increase rate by $15.00/night.

Holiday and special events may be priced higher, or require a minimum night stay.

Two-day minimum stay for mid-week and weekends, 3-4 night minimum stays for holidays and special event weekends. Single-night stay available, subject to calendar availability.

Adults preferred.

No pets.

All rooms are nonsmoking.

Rates are based on availability and are subject to change.
